Netbook or ipad?
Commuters, businessmen and gadget fanatics, can now enjoy the benefits of the latest technology found in modern portable computers. Laptops, Netbooks, notebooks and Apple’s latest release – the ipad – are just some of the devices on the market, which makes work – and play – more convenient, wherever you are.
Today, the two biggest rivals appear to be the Netbook device, against the playful ipad from Apple. Both portable computers have been marketing and produced in very different ways and are designed for specific uses.
The ipad is a touch screen operated tablet, which is fractionally designed for work, but more so, play. The tablet has a WIFI connection, so the user can surf the internet and browse normal sites like partypoker, Facebook and Google. The touch screen – which is activated and navigated by a motion of taps and sliding motions using one finger – has been a huge hit with fans of Apple, as it provides the same applications as the imac and runs off the same operating system. The tablet focuses on creative use; the large screen makes is particularity beneficial for photo editing and playing games. However, if the user needs to work, there is no need for a plug-in mouse or keyboard because a virtual pad can be brought up on the screen. This tablet is far more accessible, user friendly and aesthetically pleasing than a Netbook.
This is because the Netbook is intended primarily for work or business use. They are much smaller and lighter, making it easier to carry, plus they are a fraction of the price. It may not be user friendly for playing games due to its small screen, but, it proves excellent for typing and working because it has a real keyboard and a mouse panel. Their compact size allows the user to place it almost anywhere, whether it is on the small fold down tables on trains and planes, or simply laying it on their lap.
